Privacy policy
Last updated: 5 October 2026
This policy explains how Northbound ("Northbound", "we", "us") collects and uses personal data when you visit gonorthbound.io or contact us. We are the data controller for the information described here. Questions: oliver@gonorthbound.co.uk.
What we collect
- Enquiry details you submit through our forms: your full name, email address, phone number, company name if you give it, the service you're interested in and what you tell us about your project.
- Attribution data sent with an enquiry: the page you first landed on, the referring site, and any advertising campaign parameters in the link (such as a Google Ads click ID).
- Usage data collected through analytics cookies, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site.
We don't collect payment details on this website and don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and, where relevant, discuss and deliver work.
- To understand which pages and campaigns bring enquiries, and improve the site.
- To measure the performance of our advertising.
Our lawful bases are our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and running our business, and your consent for analytics and advertising cookies.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics and Google Ads to understand traffic and measure advertising. These services set cookies and may process data such as your IP address and interactions with the site. You can control or block cookies in your browser settings. See Google's privacy policy for more detail.
Who we share it with
We don't sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate: our website host (Netlify), our enquiry database (Notion), analytics and advertising providers (Google), and our email provider. Some process data outside the UK, in which case appropriate safeguards are used.
How long we keep it
Enquiry data is kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for reasonable business records, then deleted. Analytics data is kept according to the provider's retention settings.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your personal data, object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Email us to exercise these rights. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We may update this policy. Changes will be posted here with a new date.
